Yemeni Houthis declare naval blockade of Saudi Arabia
Houthis from the Yemeni rebel movement "Ansar Allah" announced the imposition of a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia.
This was stated by the movement's military representative Yahya Sari.
"The armed forces of Yemen (meaning the Houthis - TASS note) declare a ban on maritime navigation for <...> Saudi Arabia in accordance with the formula 'siege for siege.' The decision takes effect from the moment this statement is announced," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The statement emphasizes that the movement reserves the right to "comprehensive escalation" in response to Riyadh's actions. "The armed forces confirm their full readiness for all scenarios. For any stupidity that <...> Saudi Arabia undertakes by means of escalation, we will respond harshly," the text notes. The rebels also called on their supporters to continue general mobilization.
