53 people killed in Iran due to US attacks
The number of those killed as a result of US attacks in Iran has risen to 53, and the number of wounded to 592, said Hossein Kermanpour, head of the press service of Iran's Ministry of Health.
The Iranian Ministry of Health reported on July 19 more than 50 killed and 517 wounded as a result of US strikes on Iran amid the current escalation of tensions.
"As a result of the US attacks, 592 were wounded and 53 people were killed," Kermanpour wrote on his official page on the social network X.
Kermanpour announced data on victims from June 27 to July 22, that is, in addition to the July strikes, he also included data from the first after the signing of the memorandum on the exchange of strikes between the US and Iran on the night of June 27.
Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum on the night of June 18, which envisages the end of the conflict that began on February 28. However, US military forces have carried out several series of attacks on Iran since July 8. The US Central Command claimed that this was allegedly in response to Iran's actions against commercial vessels that were crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian military responded with strikes on US bases in a number of Middle Eastern countries. Tehran also accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of hostilities. The US president stated that the ceasefire no longer applies.
