Congress approves bill to allocate $1.15 trillion to Pentagon
The US House of Representatives approved a bill providing for the allocation of $1.15 trillion for the country's military needs in 2027.
As reported by 1news.az citing C-SPAN, the document was supported by 216 congressmen, while 212 voted against it. The bill will now go to the Senate for consideration, after which, if approved, it will be sent to US President Donald Trump for signature.
It is noted that consideration of the initiative in the upper chamber may prove difficult, since its adoption requires the support of at least 60 senators. The Senate has previously rejected a similar bill.
In addition, the House of Representatives approved a bill allocating $95 billion, of which $73 billion is proposed to be directed toward financing the military operation against Iran. The document will also be considered by the Senate.
