Earlier, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing sources, that the US is building up its military grouping in the Middle East, transferring military personnel and weapons there and preparing for a possible expansion of the operation against Iran. In mid-July, WSJ reported that Trump, after several meetings with key advisers, is leaning towards expanding military actions against Iran. According to the publication's sources, among the options being considered by the US administration are intensifying bombings of the territory of the Islamic Republic, sending ground troops to capture islands in the area of the Strait of Hormuz, and strikes on Iran's energy facilities.
