U.S. court to begin considering case against Nicolas Maduro on June 1, 2027
In the U.S., a court has set June 1, 2027, as the start of the trial of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, who are accused of drug trafficking, AP reports.
Judge Alvin Hellerstein set this date taking into account the positions of the prosecution and the defense.
Maduro and his wife have been held in a New York prison since January. They do not plead guilty.
