Brent oil price rises above $96

The price of the September futures contract for Brent crude oil on the London ICE exchange exceeded $96 per barrel for the first time since June 8, 2026.

According to Report, citing trading data, as of 04:24 Moscow time, the price of Brent rose by 2.19% to $96.13 per barrel. By 04:34 Moscow time, quotes adjusted to $95.91, which is 1.96% above the previous close level.

Earlier, Bloomberg agency, citing analysts from Goldman Sachs, reported that in the fourth quarter, the cost of Brent could exceed $120 per barrel amid escalation in the Middle East, disruptions in shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and reduced supplies from Persian Gulf countries.

In turn, Reuters noted that conflicts in Ukraine and the Persian Gulf are increasing the risks of a global crisis in the gasoline and diesel fuel market.
