Heat up to 41 degrees: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations issues emergency warning for population

Today and tomorrow on the territory of the country, including in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, exhausting heat is expected - in some places the thermometer will rise to the mark of 41 degrees.

In such weather conditions, especially on weekends, citizens flock en masse to bodies of water in search of life-saving coolness. However, unfortunately, it must be noted that disregard for safety rules by some vacationers invariably leads to tragic consequences.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), in connection with the above, has again appealed to citizens heading to bodies of water for recreation and swimming and reminds them of the importance of observing the relevant safety rules.

It must be remembered that swimming in places not intended for beach recreation - in canals, rivers, irrigation ditches, and other bodies of water - is strictly prohibited. It is also forbidden to swim beyond the designated swimming area boundaries and to enter the beach area on boats and small vessels, except for rescue equipment. Children at the beach must under no circumstances be left without adult supervision. It is necessary to unconditionally follow the instructions of warning signs and placards, as well as the requirements of rescuers. Prolonged exposure to the scorching sun without breaks and entering the water after dark pose a serious danger to life and health.

Remember: indifference to the rules is a threat to our life! In case of danger, call 112!" - the appeal emphasizes.
