Azerbaijan's road police (BDYPİ) warn drivers about extreme heat

The Main Directorate of the State Road Police (BDYPİ) has appealed to road users with a warning due to the expected hot weather in the country from July 25 to 29.

The agency urges drivers to be extremely attentive and to plan trips taking into account their well-being and the technical condition of their vehicles. High air temperatures can lead to reduced driver concentration, rapid fatigue, slowed reaction times, and sudden health deterioration, which significantly increases the risk of road accidents.

In this regard, the Main Directorate of the State Road Police recommends: Risk groups (elderly drivers, people with cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic conditions) should refrain from traveling during the hottest hours of the day unless absolutely necessary.

Check the vehicle: Before departure, ensure the technical serviceability of the car, especially the cooling and braking systems, as well as the condition of the tires and air conditioner. Take breaks: During long trips, stop regularly for rest, and at the first signs of weakness, dizziness, or drowsiness, immediately stop driving. Exercise caution: Strictly adhere to the speed limit and avoid risky maneuvers. Protect children: Never leave young children unattended in a parked car. Ventilate the cabin: Before starting to drive, be sure to ventilate the car that has been under direct sunlight for a long time.

The police once again urge all vehicle owners to take weather conditions into account, plan trips for cooler times of the day whenever possible, strictly observe traffic rules, and avoid actions that could endanger the lives and health of others.
