Changes approved in terms of stay of foreigners in Azerbaijan
Changes approved related to the term of temporary stay of foreigners in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev approved changes to the Migration Code, as well as to the laws "On registration at the place of residence and place of stay" and "On state duty".
The text of the document was published on the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.
According to the changes, administrative procedures related to extending the term of temporary stay of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan will be digitized.
Thus, the decision on extending the term of temporary stay after payment of the state duty will be placed in the electronic cabinet of the applicant in the Information System of the Electronic Government and sent to his email address. In addition, approval of the content of the decision, its execution with an electronic signature, and clarification of the legal bases of electronic services will be ensured.
The amendment introduced to the Migration Code defines an additional ground for refusal to extend the term of temporary stay. Thus, failure to submit one or several documents provided for in Article 41.1 of the Migration Code is also recorded as a ground for refusal.
According to the amendment to the law "On state duty", no duty is provided for the re-issuance of the decision on extending the term of temporary stay.
Decisions on extending the term of temporary stay issued before the day the law enters into force remain in legal force until the expiration of the term specified in them.
In cases of loss, destruction, rendering unusable of these documents or changes in the data in the documents certifying the identity of the foreigner and stateless person, they will be issued electronically, transferred to the Information System of the Electronic Government for placement in the electronic cabinet of the applicant, and also sent to his email address.
In these cases, payment of the state duty for re-issuance of the decision will not be required.
