Milli Majlis delegation visits a number of state and historical sites in Ethiopia - PHOTO

The official visit of Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia continues.

As reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis, as part of the visit, on July 29 the parliamentary delegation visited the MESOB state services center located in the capital, Addis Ababa.

The guests were informed that MESOB, created on the basis of the model of the Azerbaijani brand ASAN xidmət, is a modern "one-stop shop" system designed to facilitate citizens' access to the most important state services. Bringing together more than 140 services of federal agencies in a single digital and physical center, MESOB ensures faster, more convenient, and more reliable delivery of state services.

It should be noted that in May 2024, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the relevant structure of Ethiopia on the introduction of the ASAN xidmət experience in that country. Issues of cooperation in this area were also discussed during the meeting of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the President of Ethiopia Taye Atske Selassie, held within the framework of COP29. Over the past period, with the support of Azerbaijan, the necessary organizational, legal, and technical measures for the introduction of the ASAN xidmət experience were implemented in Ethiopia.

During the meetings of the Speaker of the Milli Majlis S. Gafarova, it was noted that the country's leadership is also applying this model in the regions of Ethiopia, which has made it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of the provision of state services.

As part of the visit, the delegation also familiarized itself with the National Palace Museum Complex. The guests were informed that it is one of the most important cultural and historical sites reflecting the history of Ethiopian statehood, the heritage of the monarchy period, and the country's cultural values.

In addition, the delegation visited the National Museum of History, where it viewed exhibits reflecting the history of Ethiopia.
