"He hit him with a stick": Mother of a 7-year-old boy accuses the management of an educational center in Sumgait
It is alleged that a young child was beaten at the "Nauka Tədris Mərkəzi" educational center operating in Sumgait.
As 1news.az reports, this was told to Qafqazinf" by parent Nurana Mehraliyeva, who states that her son was subjected to violence at a summer camp affiliated with the kindergarten.
According to her, as a result of the incident the child sustained injuries to his face and body:
"My son Tunar Abdullayev is 7 years old, and this year he will go to school. Previously he also attended a private kindergarten. However, because his teacher went on maternity leave, school preparation classes in the Russian sector were suspended.
After looking into options, I was told that Parvana khanum is a good teacher. That is why I brought my son to her preparatory courses.
After several classes, I was informed that the children's foundation was weak and that lessons once a week were not enough. I was offered to take the child out of his previous kindergarten and transfer him to them. They guaranteed me that within 6 months my son would be fully prepared for school.
I did as they said: I took my son out of the previous kindergarten and transferred him to this one. I made all the required payments on time. Moreover, in addition to the monthly payment, every month I paid 300 manats for excursions and other activities."
According to the mother, the unpleasant incident occurred on the 27th:
"Before that, we had already encountered problems a couple of times. I informed the management that kindergarten staff raised their voices and displayed an insulting attitude toward the children. Each time I was told that the employee in question had been fired and the matter was resolved, but later I realized that this was done only to hush up the situation.
Because of the exams, I waited for my son to take them first and only then take him out of the kindergarten. Then the kindergarten organized a summer camp. I was forced to send the child there so that he would spend his time usefully.
The educational center has 2 branches. The branch we attended was located in the 5th microdistrict. The incident, however, occurred at the camp organized in the yard of a nearby sports complex.
On this territory, a manager hit the child with a stick. As a result, my son sustained various injuries to his face and body. My daughter also goes to this kindergarten and is an eyewitness to what happened. Other children can also confirm that this person's behavior was not normal. I would note that this person is not a teacher, but the manager organizing the camp."
The parent stated that she had appealed to law enforcement agencies regarding this fact and that the case is currently under investigation.
In connection with this issue, "Nauka Tədris Mərkəzi" told our website that the dissemination of such information in this form does not correspond to reality:
"This causes serious damage to the business reputation of the "Nauka Tədris Mərkəzi" educational center. The claim of physical violence does not correspond to the truth. Video recordings from the surveillance cameras available at the institution in connection with the incident have been preserved by us. Upon examination of these recordings, no facts were identified confirming the disseminated claim that the child was beaten by a teacher or struck with a stick. Surveillance camera recordings for the period when the incident allegedly occurred, WhatsApp correspondence, audio materials and other documents are available and, if necessary, can be provided to the relevant authorities and the court as evidence.
We request a substantiated response to this appeal within the timeframe established by law. In the event of a refusal to satisfy our demands or a failure to provide a response in the manner prescribed by law, we reserve the right to appeal to the relevant state bodies and the court to protect our rights, including to make use of all rights provided for by legislation to demand compensation for the material and moral damage caused."
An employee of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Jasarat Ganbarli, reported that an appeal regarding these claims had been received by the police department. A procedural review is being conducted on the appeal.
