Azerbaijan introduces new limits on card-to-card transfers
In Azerbaijan, the implementation of new restrictions on transfers of funds from a bank card to a bank card has begun.
Banks have already begun sending SMS notifications to their clients about the upcoming changes.
According to the disseminated information, from August 1, 2026, no more than five transfers to other bank cards can be made from one bank card within a day.
In addition, it is reported that the total amount of transfers on one card within a month will be limited to 20,000 manats.
At the same time, the new restrictions do not apply to transfers between bank accounts and cards opened in the name of the same owner. In such cases, clients will be able to transfer funds between their accounts in the previous manner.
It is assumed that the new rules may affect the volume of non-cash payments, private money transfers, as well as settlements of small business entities.
The question of whether the restrictions will be applied in all banks in the same manner, as well as how operations will be suspended when the established limits are exceeded, is recommended to be clarified directly with the bank serving the client.
