Trump accuses Iran's authorities of "duplicity"

U.S. President Donald Trump stated this on the social network Truth Social.

At the same time, the American leader, in his post, also announced a new round of talks with the Islamic Republic.

According to him, Tehran simultaneously seeks meetings with the American side, "begs" for them, and publicly denies the fact of any negotiations, claiming that it is dealing only with Oman.

"The Iranian leadership is incredibly two-faced!" Trump wrote.

The U.S. president also noted that the American military fully controls the Strait of Hormuz, despite claims to the contrary from Tehran.

In addition, Trump noted that Washington is holding talks on resolving the nuclear issue, and emphasized that "Iran will never get a nuclear weapon!"

The day before, the U.S. president called off a large-scale attack on Iran planned for the weekend, betting on a new attempt to reach an agreement with Tehran. Preparations for strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure were halted after consultations with the Persian Gulf states, which warned of the threat of regional escalation.
