Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs disrupts drug supply channel using UAV

Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs and the Sabunchu District Police Department conducted an operation against the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances.

1news.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
It is reported that during operational measures, previously convicted Sanan Mirzoyev, suspected of drug trafficking, and his female acquaintance were detained. A total of 22 kilograms 540 grams of marijuana were found and seized from them.
During the investigation, it was established that the detainees planned to pick up narcotic substances delivered from Iran to the Fizuli district using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), deliver them to various addresses in the capital, and organize their illegal sale.
During another operation conducted by officers of the Sabunchu District Police Department, previously convicted Valid Gurbanov, also suspected of drug trafficking, was detained in the Bakhikhanov settlement. About 7 kilograms of marijuana were seized from him.
Criminal cases have been initiated on the above facts, and the investigation continues.
