Woman who went missing in Baku a year ago was killed and buried in the yard of the house by her own son
As a result of joint and coordinated comprehensive investigative and operational-search measures carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, it was established that Lyudmila Veniaminovna Timofeyeva, born in 1954, who went missing last year, was intentionally murdered.
As reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, during the preliminary investigation, on the basis of the evidence collected, reasonable suspicions arose that Elnur Hasan oglu Mammadov, born in 1994, in July 2025, during a conflict that arose between them, struck his mother Lyudmila Timofeyeva, with whom he lived in a private house in the settlement of Shuvalan in Baku's Khazar district, numerous blows with his fists and feet to various parts of her body. As a result, she sustained bodily injuries classified as grievous harm to health, from which she died. After that, he allegedly buried the body in the yard of the private house where they lived.
As part of the investigation, the necessary procedural actions were carried out. In particular, during the inspection of the scene on the grounds of the house where Lyudmila Veniaminovna Timofeyeva lived, excavations were conducted with the participation of experts from the Scientific-Research Association of Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy of the Ministry of Health. During the work, a human skeleton was discovered and removed.
In connection with this fact, the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office has opened a criminal case under Article 120.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (intentional murder). On the basis of the evidence collected, Elnur Mammadov has been charged as a defendant under the said article, and formal charges have been brought against him.
Currently, the necessary investigative actions and operational-search measures aimed at fully, comprehensively, and objectively establishing all the circumstances of what happened are continuing in the criminal case.
