Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park
On August 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov briefed the head of state and the first lady on the Nakhchivan Industrial Park.
It was noted that this industrial park is being established under a 2024 Decree of the President of Azerbaijan. In order to organize the operation of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park, it is planned first to bring the territory into a usable condition, and at the next stage to create external and internal infrastructure, including electricity, heat, gas and water supply systems, communications, transport, as well as production, administrative, social and other facilities. Located in the southwestern part of the city of Nakhchivan, south of the Nakhchivan-Sadarak highway, this industrial park will cover an area of 310 hectares. Negotiations are already underway on a number of projects with the aim of attracting potential entrepreneurs to the industrial park.
Currently, 8 industrial parks operate in our country (Sumgayit Industrial Park, Mingachevir Industrial Park, Garadagh Industrial Park, Pirallahi Industrial Park, Aghdam Industrial Park, Hajigabul Industrial Park, the "Araz Valley Economic Zone" Industrial Park, Balakhani Industrial Park).
In addition, the process of obtaining technical conditions for the creation of infrastructure is underway at the Western Industrial Park, which will be established on the administrative territories of the city of Ganja and the Shamkir district.
A total of 184 residents have been registered in these industrial parks, 101 of which are already operating. To date, residents have invested more than 7.1 billion manats and created over 11,500 jobs.
As of July 1, 2026, products worth 21.4 billion manats have been produced in the industrial parks, of which 6.7 billion manats account for exports.
