Is there a rise in acute respiratory viral infections in Azerbaijan?

Despite unstable weather and temperature fluctuations, Azerbaijan is not seeing a sharp increase in the number of cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI).

This was reported in response to an inquiry from Report by Tayyar Eyvazov, an expert at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health.

According to him, the epidemiological situation in the country remains stable and is under control.

"Unstable weather, temperature fluctuations, crowding of people in enclosed spaces and insufficient ventilation can contribute to the spread of respiratory infections. However, at present there is no unusual increase in the incidence or a sharp wave of the spread of infections in the country," the expert noted.

In accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health continues epidemiological monitoring and regularly tracks the dynamics of the spread of respiratory infections, Eyvazov emphasized.

He also recommended that citizens observe the rules of personal hygiene, regularly ventilate enclosed spaces, and, if fever, sore throat and weakness appear, stay at home if possible. The expert urged people not to self-medicate and to consult a doctor in a timely manner.
