Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan: The number of victims of mine terror since the war has reached 436 people
The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has released updated statistics on citizens affected by mine explosions in the country's territories liberated from occupation as of August 14, 2026.
According to the agency, since the end of the Patriotic War (from November 10, 2020), 436 people have been affected as a result of explosions on mines laid by Armenia. Of them, 73 people were killed, and 363 sustained injuries of varying severity.
The supervisory agency emphasized that for each instance of a mine explosion, the prosecutor's office conducts an investigation in accordance with the requirements of the law, establishing all the circumstances, causes, and conditions of what occurred. In cooperation with other relevant state bodies, the necessary measures are being taken, and the public is regularly informed about the situation.
The Prosecutor General's Office noted that the complete elimination of the mine threat is a key condition for ensuring the safety of citizens, restoring the territories, and sustainable resettlement in the liberated lands.
Law enforcement agencies once again call on citizens and persons visiting these territories to strictly observe safety rules: to move exclusively along checked and permitted routes, to pay attention to warning signs, and to follow the recommendations of state agencies.
