A new tunnel and ventilation shaft are being built in the Baku Metro

Construction between the "Jafar Jabbarly" and "28 May" stations is nearing completion.

The line separation project includes seven different complex projects.

Bakhtiyar Mammadov, press secretary of the Baku Metro CJSC, told APA about this.

"As part of the first stage, the "Darnagul" electric depot has already been put into operation. Also, one of the second important tasks was the construction of a tunnel about 200 meters long. Certain work has already been carried out in this direction: out of the 211 meters of tunnel, about 39 meters have already been built, and since they have reached the section where traffic is currently running, it became necessary to stop train traffic. This work, as I have already noted, will continue for 11 months.

Currently, the construction of a pedestrian staircase between the "Jafar Jabbarly" and "28 May" stations is nearing completion. Within the next month and a half to two months, this staircase will be put into operation. This means that another pedestrian staircase connecting the "Jafar Jabbarly" and "28 May" stations will make it possible to regulate passenger flows more conveniently.

As part of the line separation project, two electrical substations ensuring train traffic will also be built, since we are talking about separate independent lines, and one more substation will be reconstructed."

He noted that over the course of 11 months, a new ventilation shaft for the ventilation system is being built between the "Nizami" and "Jafar Jabbarly" stations. Significant work will also be carried out in this section to eliminate the consequences of the impact on the tunnel infrastructure, which is a problem for the Baku Metro and leads to a reduction in train speed.
