Suspension of metro operations in Baku: 100 additional buses deployed on the lines - VIDEO
The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency has organized service on six new express routes.
As APA reports, this was stated to journalists by Tural Orujev, press secretary of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
“Today, in connection with the start of the line separation project at Baku Metro CJSC, our citizens are actively using the opportunities offered by these express routes. Three express routes — M1, M2 and M3 — operate at the ‘28 May’ Transport Transfer Center.
Express route M1 connects the ‘Inshaatchylar’ metro station with the ‘28 May’ Transport Transfer Center, while express route M3 connects the ‘20 January’ metro station with the ‘28 May’ Transport Transfer Center.
I would particularly note that the buses of express routes M1 and M3, running from the ‘Elmlar Akademiyasy’ and ‘20 January’ stations to the Transport Transfer Center, make an intermediate stop opposite the ‘Nizami’ metro station. Citizens can also board and exit the buses here,” he noted.
According to him, three additional express routes — M4, M5 and M6 — have also been organized:
“Routes M4 and M5 depart from the ‘20 January’ metro station. Route M4 connects the ‘20 January’ metro station with the ‘Koroglu’ metro station, and M5 connects the ‘20 January’ metro station with the ‘Ganjlik’ metro station.
Finally, express route M6 runs from the ‘Elmlar Akademiyasy’ metro station to the ‘Ganjlik’ metro station, from where citizens will be able to use the opportunities of these express routes and continue in the direction they need.”
“We call on our citizens, when planning their trips, to correctly assess their routes in advance and to use the opportunities of these express routes rationally. Our main goal is to minimize the number of transfers and trips people make.
In addition, about 100 additional buses have been assigned to the 20 existing regular bus routes in order to increase the number of buses on the lines and improve accessibility, so that people can use the buses comfortably.
In order to assist citizens, volunteers have also started working as of today. They are located in front of the ‘20 January’, ‘28 May’, ‘Elmlar Akademiyasy’ and ‘Inshaatchylar’ metro stations and provide our citizens with the necessary information,” Tural Orujov said.
