Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Egypt may join the Meccan agreement

The Meccan joint defense agreement signed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan provides for the possibility of other countries joining, in particular Egypt.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this in an interview with the Al Jazeera television channel.

According to him, the key condition of the defense pact is coordinated actions and mutual support in the event of aggression against any of the participating states. Erdogan emphasized that this alliance "sends an important signal to the whole world."
