Azerbaijani man placed on international wanted list to be extradited from Russia
In accordance with the requirements of the Convention of October 7, 2002 "On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters," the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has granted the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Nahid Alijanli.
This was reported by 1news.az with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In the course of the investigation of a criminal case conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Gubadli district, reasonable suspicions were established that N. Alijanli had committed a crime under Article 333.4-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan — unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service for a period exceeding three months.
In this connection, a decision was made to prosecute him as an accused. Since N. Alijanli fled from the investigation, he was placed on the international wanted list.
Currently, the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan is taking the necessary measures, in accordance with international procedures, to bring him to Azerbaijan.
