A group of deputies of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis will visit Kazakhstan on August 20 to monitor the elections to the country's new unicameral parliament — the Kurultai — as international observers.

This was reported by the press and public relations department of the Milli Majlis.

It is reported that deputies Sabina Salmanova, as part of the mission of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), Nasib Magamaliyev — of the CIS Executive Committee, Gulshan Pashayeva — of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), and Gunay Efendiyeva — of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), will observe the electoral process in the city of Astana. Deputy Hikmet Mammadov, as part of the TURKPA mission, will observe the elections in the city of Almaty.

During the visit, the deputies will familiarize themselves with the conditions created at the polling stations and the preparatory work carried out, and will also observe the course of the voting and the activity of citizens.
