Azerbaijan plays an indispensable role in supporting the energy resilience of Ukraine and Europe.
As Report informs, this was stated at a press conference by the new British Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman.
According to the ambassador, Azerbaijan plays an important role in promoting stability in this broad region.
The diplomat added that the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan share a common position regarding Ukraine's territorial integrity. He also welcomed Azerbaijan's political and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
"Azerbaijan plays an indispensable role in supporting the energy resilience of Ukraine and Europe. In addition, in April President Zelenskyy made a historic visit," he noted. "I would like to thank Azerbaijan for its support and constructive engagement in efforts to build a more peaceful and stable future for the region stretching from Gaza to Iran."
He also noted Azerbaijan's important role as a reliable partner in ensuring energy security amid the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.
"The United Kingdom continues to work together with partners to restore shipping through the strait. We also count on the preservation of the ceasefire regime and the successful conclusion of the peace talks. At the same time, we welcome reports of progress in the negotiation process," the diplomat said.
