Ambassador: United Kingdom ready to support development of the Middle Corridor
The United Kingdom is ready to support the implementation of the Middle Corridor project, including the introduction of British expertise, investment, and financing to create sustainable infrastructure.
As Report informs, this was stated at a press conference by the newly appointed British Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman.
He also noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia are taking steps toward a lasting peace based on dialogue and ongoing engagement between the two sides. This situation could potentially create new opportunities for trade, investment, and regional connectivity. "We welcome such practical steps as the work on border delimitation, Azerbaijan's electricity supplies to Armenia, and the cross-border 'Bridge of Peace' initiative," the ambassador emphasized.
He noted that the opening of transport, energy, and communication links can help ensure that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia brings greater prosperity and security to the entire region.
Norman noted that close friendly relations exist between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
"We work together on many issues and share common views on many topics. I look forward to further strengthening these friendly relations," he added.
