Death toll from flooding in Nepal reaches 469

The flooding that occurred in the northern regions of Nepal has claimed the lives of 469 people.

This was reported by the Nepalese police.

"469 bodies have been found, 1,545 people have been injured and rescued," the latest report from law enforcement agencies notes.

The search and rescue operation is continuing. A total of 13,295 security personnel from the Nepalese army, the armed police forces, and the country's police have been mobilized. Rescuers have to clear debris and dig people out from under the ground.

"The situation remains difficult. All state agencies are working in an enhanced regime. At this moment, our main priority is saving the life of every citizen, searching for and rescuing those missing, providing medical assistance to the victims, and providing emergency aid to the families affected by the disaster," said Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
