Azerbaijan and Russia discussed the development of freight transportation along the North-South corridor

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev and Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin discussed the development of freight transportation between the region and Azerbaijan along the North-South international transport corridor during a meeting in Astrakhan.

As 1news.az reports, this was stated in a statement by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia on social media.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural, and transport spheres, paying particular attention to the development of freight transportation along the North-South international transport corridor," the message said.

Speaking about humanitarian cooperation, Babushkin proposed considering the possibility of holding joint opera gala concerts and open-air productions in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku with the participation of the M. F. Akhundov Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater.

"The Republic of Azerbaijan is our most important partner in the Caspian. I intend to continue making every effort to further strengthen comprehensive cooperation," Babushkin said.

At the governor's invitation, Ambassador Mustafayev also attended the premiere of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's opera "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" at the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater.

In addition, the Azerbaijani diplomat familiarized himself with the facilities built in Astrakhan by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, including the monument to Saint Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles, and infrastructure facilities on Bakinskaya Street.
