Baku and Vilnius discuss prospects of bilateral relations
The current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed during a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Lithuania, Kestutis Budrys.
According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the sides noted the importance of continuing the political dialogue and further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The importance of developing partnership within multilateral platforms was also emphasized during the conversation. Kestutis Budrys provided information about Lithuania's preparations for its presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027. In the context of Azerbaijan-European Union relations, an exchange of views took place on efforts in a number of areas during the period of Lithuania's upcoming presidency.
The ministers also discussed issues of regional security, the current situation in the South Caucasus and the work being carried out toward ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as other international issues of mutual interest.
