Ilham Aliyev congratulates Giorgia Meloni on record tenure as Italy's prime minister
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on reaching a historic milestone — she has become the longest-serving head of government in Italy's history.
The Azerbaijani leader published the corresponding post on his page on the social network X.
"I wholeheartedly congratulate Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of the Italian Republic," the post reads.
According to Ilham Aliyev, "this historic milestone" reflects Meloni's strong leadership, her political determination, and the trust of the Italian people in her.
"I highly appreciate Prime Minister Meloni's personal role and her valuable contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy. I am confident that our friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation will continue to deepen and expand for the benefit of our countries and peoples," the head of state concluded.
