A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, which lasted about 4 hours, has concluded in Kyiv.

As 1news.az reports, the Ukrainian leader, during a press briefing following the meeting, jokingly stated that the American delegates "performed even better than the Patriot systems," which Ukrainians have recently been in dire need of.

"At the same time, another crucial significance of today's visit by the representatives of the U.S. president lies in the fact that thanks to their presence here, no strikes are being carried out on Kyiv," V. Zelensky noted.

The president of Ukraine noted that the main success of the talks for him was the results related to strengthening the country's air defense.

"In 2027, the U.S. will increase the production of missiles for Patriot air defense systems. Ukraine hopes for an increase in the volume of production of anti-missile weapons. Next year, the American side will increase the volume of production of anti-ballistic missiles for Patriot. We believe that in any case the war will end, nevertheless we will need them. We place our hopes on such systems for the defense of our state. Therefore, next year we will increase the volumes. I am completely confident in this," Zelensky added.
