Moldova's Foreign Ministry condemns Russian strikes on the Starokozache border crossing

Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned Russia's latest attacks on Ukraine, in particular the strike on the Starokozache border crossing, which left people dead and injured.

The ministry said it strongly condemns the Russian attacks, which last night were directed, among other places, at an area in the immediate vicinity of the border with Moldova, near the Tudora (in Moldova) - Starokozache (in Ukraine) border crossing.

"As a result of these attacks, deaths and injuries have been recorded, including among Ukrainian border guards. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded," the message says.

The Foreign Ministry also recalled that the day before, the fall of a drone was recorded outside the village of Vechile Mihaileni in Moldova's Riscani district. Its fragments were found at the site, with characteristics similar to a "Geran"-type drone. The fall caused an explosion.

The ministry emphasized that Moldova stands in solidarity with Ukraine and condemns attacks that threaten people's lives and the safety of settlements in the border zone.

"Military operations being conducted in the immediate vicinity of our country pose a direct threat to the security of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens," the ministry stated.

"These incidents once again demonstrate the serious consequences of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine and the risks it creates for the security of the Republic of Moldova and regional stability," the statement says.
