Foreign minister: Start of TRIPP process expected in 2027
The main negotiations on the TRIPP project (Trump Route) are being conducted between the United States and Armenia, but its implementation is impossible without Azerbaijan's participation.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this to journalists on the sidelines of the high-level opening of the IV Climate Week (CW4) in Baku.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, American partners regularly inform the Azerbaijani side about the progress of the negotiations.
"The main negotiations on TRIPP are being conducted between the United States and Armenia, and that is natural. At the same time, the American partners regularly inform Azerbaijan, since implementation of the project is impossible without our country's participation. According to the information provided to us, the process is continuing successfully," Bayramov said.
The minister reported that earlier the start of the process had been expected before the end of this year, however, according to the latest information, it is planned for 2027.
"We consider this project very important for Azerbaijan, Armenia and the entire region, as well as for international partnership," he emphasized.
Bayramov also reported that Azerbaijan has already begun restoring railways on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
According to him, there are international partners interested in taking part in this project. At the same time, Azerbaijan is independently taking the necessary steps for its implementation.
