Kazakhstan's Navy has begun large-scale exercises in the Caspian Sea.

The naval personnel will have to carry out combat tasks and conduct shipboard live-fire drills.

During the training cruise, the servicemen will test their skills on the open sea and practice coordination of actions and accuracy.

The exercises will be held in three stages. First, the sailors will demonstrate interaction between ships, navigation and communications, as well as vessel handling and the use of weapons. The tasks will become more complex as the stages progress, and additional units will be brought into the exercises later on.

"Special attention will be paid to the actions of crews at a considerable distance from the shore," the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan noted.

The main goal of the sea voyage is to improve the practical skills and maneuvering capabilities of Kazakhstan's vessels. The trials will also show the readiness of the ships' crews to perform tasks in extreme conditions.
