Robots with flags and slogans take to the streets of Warsaw - VIDEO

About 30 robots took part in an unusual demonstration in central Warsaw, calling for stronger regulation of artificial intelligence and the protection of jobs.

The demonstration was held outside the building of Poland's Ministry of Digital Affairs. The participants in the action, which included humanoid and four-legged robots, moved in a circle carrying flags, while loudspeakers mounted on them broadcast calls for the introduction of new rules in the field of artificial intelligence.

As AFP reports, the action was organized by the "Democratism" movement, which deals with the impact of artificial intelligence and robotization on the labor market.

One of the humanoid robots presented at the action, the Agibot A3, told the agency that the participation of machines in the demonstration was meant to show that technologies capable of performing various tasks have already become part of reality.

The organizer of the action, Grzegorz Kulis, noted that one of the main topics of the event was the possible replacement of workers by robots and artificial intelligence systems, including in fields involving intellectual labor.

According to him, states need to develop the appropriate norms in advance, since without regulation the spread of such technologies could lead to serious problems on the labor market.

Slogans calling for jobs to be preserved and for the introduction of regulation not to be postponed were heard at the action.

In July, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law drafted by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. The document provides for the implementation in the country of European Union legislative requirements in the field of artificial intelligence and the creation of a national body that will monitor compliance with the established rules.
