The United States expects mutual visits by representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue as part of efforts to facilitate the establishment of a lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
Amy Carlon, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the United States in Azerbaijan, who is visiting the region as part of a delegation of the foreign diplomatic corps, said this to a Report correspondent in Karabakh.
According to her, such exchanges of visits are not an unusual practice — they are part of the process of facilitating the establishment of a long-term peace in the region.
"I already visited Yerevan a couple of weeks ago, and such exchanges of visits are not something unusual for us. This is part of our process of facilitating the establishment of a lasting peace in the South Caucasus. These were mutual visits that we carried out," Carlon said.
She also noted that the United States continues to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in the areas outlined in the Charter on Strategic Partnership.
According to the diplomat, among the key areas are the development of connectivity, including the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), economic investment and connectivity with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and data processing centers, as well as defense cooperation and cooperation in the field of security.
