Employee of "Toyota Baku Center" arrested for fraud worth 610,000 manats
A verdict has been handed down against Vusal Kerimov, a driver at the Toyota Center Baku auto center (names have been changed, born in 1986).
As 1news.az reports citing Qafqazinfo, the man was brought to criminal responsibility on the basis of a complaint from his acquaintance Tamerlan Aliyev.
The investigation established that Kerimov had worked at the aforementioned company since 2014 and had managed to acquire certain connections there. Taking advantage of T. Aliyev's trust, he proposed to him to set up a joint business.
Kerimov convinced his friend that Toyota Center Baku regularly receives orders for the delivery of cars from Japan, which customers sometimes refuse. According to the offender, they could buy up these "refused" cars on favorable terms for subsequent resale and split the profits.
Under this pretext, between 2024 and 2025, Kerimov swindled a large sum of money out of the victim, after which he disappeared and refused to return the funds. In total, through fraud he took possession of T. Aliyev's money in the amount of 610,000 manats.
The materials of the criminal case were sent to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes. The court found Vusal Kerimov guilty under Article 178.4 (fraud committed with damage on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment.
