U.S. Navy ships in the Arabian Sea placed on heightened alert
The crews of the American aircraft carrier USS George Washington and missile destroyers in the Arabian Sea have been placed on heightened alert.
The decision is linked to a possible threat in the Red Sea from the forces of the Shiite movement Ansar Allah (the Houthis).

According to the television channel, the increase in the U.S. Navy's level of combat readiness is connected with the advance of the Yemeni Houthis along the coast in the direction of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Last week, Ansar Allah forces seized the port city of Mocha, Reuters reported, citing sources. In addition, the Houthis established control over the entire Red Sea coast in Yemen, which had previously been under the control of government troops.
As Axios reported, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke twice by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump and asked him to strike Houthi positions. The American president refused.
