Baku Declaration of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Administrations of the OTS adopted
On September 14, the Baku Declaration was adopted within the framework of the 7th meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
As AZERTAC reports, the document reflected a number of important provisions related to strengthening solidarity among Turkic states and peoples, promoting Turkic-Islamic spiritual and cultural values, developing religious education and scientific cooperation, and educating young people.
The document notes that the joint fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism, Islamophobia, Turkophobia, interfaith discrimination and calls for hatred will continue. The protection of the rights of women and children, the translation of religious literature, the preparation of joint fatwas and the promotion of the historical heritage of the Turkic world were also noted as priority areas.
