Azerbaijan steps up fight against terrorism financing
Azerbaijan is strengthening mechanisms to combat the financing of terrorism, and the liability of legal entities in this area is being clarified.
As Report informs, this is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The draft was submitted for discussion at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building.
The document notes that if, as a result of a legal entity's improper organization of control over financial transactions in the manner established by law, officials commit a crime related to the financing of terrorism while performing their official duties, criminal law measures will be applied to the legal entity regardless of whether the crime was committed in the interests of that legal entity or for the purpose of protecting its interests.
