Hakan Fidan: Azerbaijan and Turkey seek to reach the $15 billion trade target

Azerbaijan and Turkey are continuing efforts to reach the target of $15 billion in trade turnover as soon as possible, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at a joint briefing with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku.

He noted that trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey is one of the most important areas of relations.

"Our mutual investments, joint projects and trade turnover are growing even more every year. All our agencies, professional organizations and chambers of commerce are making great efforts to reach, as soon as possible, the target of $15 billion in trade turnover set for us by our presidents," Hakan Fidan said.

The Turkish minister emphasized that cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and connectivity is also a strategic area of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations.

"Many projects are being implemented in these areas. (…) We consider the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line one of the most important components of the Middle Corridor and wish for its effective use," he stated.
