Huseynov: Aghdam is turning from the "Hiroshima of the Caucasus" into a symbol of peace
Aghdam, once considered a symbol of destruction and sorrow and dubbed the "Hiroshima of the Caucasus," is today turning into a symbol of peace, security, and confidence in the future.
As Report informs, this was stated by Emin Huseynov, the Azerbaijani president's special representative in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, at an event held as part of an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to Seyid Yahya Bakuvi at the Aghdam Friday Mosque.
According to him, the Aghdam Mosque is one of the symbols of Karabakh and an important center of worship and pilgrimage both for local residents and for the city's guests.
Huseynov noted that the restoration of the 18th-century village mosque in the village of Yusifjanli in the Aghdam district, as well as of the Imaret History and Architecture Museum Complex, where the tombs of representatives of the Karabakh khan dynasty are located, testifies to the Azerbaijani state's attentive attitude toward religious and cultural heritage.
