Syrian returns after 15 years to the library he hid inside a wall from the Assad regime — VIDEO
A Syrian who in 2011, fearing attacks by Bashar al-Assad's regime, walled up his home library in Homs has returned to his books after almost 15 years.
According to social media, before leaving for Kuwait the man sealed the library behind a brick wall in order to preserve the books. Upon returning to his homeland, he broke down the wall and once again gained access to the library.
The footage that has been circulating shows that hundreds of books were preserved undamaged, despite having been stored behind the wall for many years.
After the protests began in Syria in 2011, millions of people were forced to leave the country because of attacks by the Assad regime.
