Azerbaijan's national teams win in round II of the World Chess Olympiad
Azerbaijan's national chess teams have secured further victories at the 46th World Chess Olympiad, taking place in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
As Report informs, in round II the Azerbaijani men's team defeated the Philippines with a score of 3:1. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Mahammad Muradli overcame their opponents, while Aydin Suleymanli and Eltaj Safarli drew their games.
The Azerbaijani women's team defeated Denmark with a score of 4:0. Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Khanim Balajayeva, and Gulnar Mammadova won against their opponents.
Note that in the first round the Azerbaijani men's team beat Morocco, while the women's team defeated Guatemala with a score of 4:0.
The World Chess Olympiad is organized under the Swiss system and includes 11 rounds, with its conclusion scheduled for September 27.
