Azerbaijan's national teams claim third victories at the World Chess Olympiad

Azerbaijan's national teams successfully played their third-round matches at the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which is being held in Samarkand.

As İdman.Biz reports, the men's national team of Azerbaijan defeated Switzerland 3-1.

Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Mahammad Muradli won their games, while Aydin Suleymanli and Eltaj Safarli drew theirs.

In the third round, the women's national team of Azerbaijan faced Sweden and won 2.5-1.5.

Gulnar Mammadova brought the team the winning point, while Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beydullayeva and Gunay Mammadzada drew their games.

Thus, both Azerbaijani teams have won all three of their opening matches at the Olympiad. Earlier, the men's team defeated Morocco (4-0) and the Philippines (3-1), while the women's team crushed Guatemala and Denmark by the same score of 4-0.

The World Chess Olympiad is being held under the Swiss system over 11 rounds and will conclude on September 27.
