Mammadali Mehdiyev becomes world judo champion among veterans - PHOTO

Azerbaijani judoka Mammadali Mehdiyev won the gold medal of the World Veterans Championship in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This was reported by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation.

On the first day of the competition, members of the Azerbaijani national team in the M1 age category won 1 gold and 3 bronze medals.

Mammadali Mehdiyev, who competed in the 100 kg weight category, defeated all of his rivals and became world champion.

Abulfat Ismayilov (-60 kg), Mahir Abbasov (-81 kg) and Joshgun Abdullayev (-90 kg) were awarded bronze medals.

Note that Azerbaijan is represented at the world championship by 30 judokas.
