Ambassador: The importance of the Middle Corridor in cooperation between China and Azerbaijan is growing
The Middle Corridor is one of the important areas for the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Azerbaijan and China.
This was stated by China's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei at a reception dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the founding of the PRC.
According to her, this year the volume of transportation via the China-Europe railway express, which passes through Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea, is expected to double.
"Cooperation within the framework of the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative brings practical benefits to our peoples," Lu Mei emphasized.
The diplomat noted the participation of Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev in the Global Sustainable Transport Forum in China and the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on International Road Transport between the PRC and Azerbaijan: "This will give additional impetus to our cooperation in the field of connectivity."
