Founder of Global Infrastructure Partners: If I were Azerbaijani, I would also have voted for Ilham Aliyev

Azerbaijan's GDP has grown tenfold and amounted to 76 billion manats. GDP per capita has increased eightfold. The poverty level in the country has fallen from 45 percent to 5 percent. Azerbaijan's economy is also developing at a very high pace.

As AZERTAC reports, this was said by Adebayo Ogunlesi, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), at the event "Restoring Trust in a Fragmented World: The South Caucasus as a Pillar of Global Connectivity and Investment Stability," held as part of the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

He noted that all of this consists of the achievements of President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan has become one of the main suppliers of natural gas to Türkiye and Europe. The country has traveled a long path of development. Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territories have been returned, and a peace treaty has been initialed. Azerbaijan has established very strong relations with the United States, Europe, and Türkiye, and relations with China and Russia are also developing. The country hosted COP29. "That is precisely why the people of Azerbaijan have elected Ilham Aliyev President five times. If I were Azerbaijani, I would also have voted for Ilham Aliyev," Adebayo Ogunlesi stated.
