Anar Guliyev: Baku's master plan creates new investment opportunities

Baku's master plan defines the city's long-term development prospects.

As AZERTAC reports, this was stated by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, speaking at the panel discussion "Emerging Investment Areas: Real Estate, Tourism and Urban Planning" within the framework of the second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

According to him, the master plan, which provides for the development of Baku until 2040, pays special attention to ensuring a balance between regional and local centers, creating modern infrastructure, and greening the city.

It was noted that the master plan is of great importance not only from the point of view of urban planning, but also in terms of forming new investment opportunities.

The chairman of the committee emphasized that the main goal is not only to ensure the development of the city, but also to form infrastructure on a long-term and sustainable basis.

As one example of this approach, Anar Guliyev cited the reconstruction of Baku's former industrial zones. According to him, the transformation of the territory once known as the "Black City" into a modern urban space is important in terms of renewing the urban environment, restoring the environment, and creating new economic activity.

It was noted that such projects, in addition to urban planning, create new investment opportunities in tourism, real estate, services, and other fields.
