Pezeshkian: Iran has lost trust in the negotiation process with the U.S.

Iran has lost trust in the negotiation process with the United States, as each round of dialogue is followed by new sanctions and strikes.

President of the Islamic Republic Masoud Pezeshkian said this in an interview with the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera.

"We no longer trust negotiations with Washington because of the repetition of attacks and [the imposition of] sanctions after each dialogue," the channel quoted the Iranian president as saying. Pezeshkian also noted that Doha and Islamabad are currently serving as mediators in indirect contacts between the two countries. "Qatar and Pakistan <...> convey our messages to Washington," he pointed out.
In addition, the Iranian president emphasized that contacts with the United States are based on a previously reached memorandum of understanding, and he called on the American administration to clearly define its position on this document.
