Azerbaijan honors the memory of martyrs with a minute of silence - PHOTO

Today, a minute of silence was observed throughout Azerbaijan to honor the memory of all martyrs who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and gave their lives for the country's territorial integrity.

As 1news.az reports, traffic and pedestrian movement was suspended across the country.

At the same time, cars sounded their horns, while ships and land trains sounded their whistles.

Let us note that today Azerbaijan marks the Day of Remembrance of the heroic martyrs who died in the Patriotic War, which began with the aim of putting an end to Armenia's military provocations and combat activity against Azerbaijan and ensuring the safety of the civilian population.

According to the decree of President Ilham Aliyev of December 2, 2020, September 27 is marked annually in Azerbaijan as the Day of Remembrance as a sign of deep respect for the servicemen and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and gave their lives for the country's territorial integrity, as well as for all martyrs.
